Our Board...
Our board is comprised completely of volunteers from within the community of Legacy. From our elected board each year, 4 individuals are comprised of the executive leadership. An additional 7 director positions exist for a total of 11 directors that serve vital roles to support the ongoing maintenance and future growth of the Calgary Legacy Community Association.
Additionally our board has Advisor positions. These positions are volunteers that advise Directors in regards to specific areas of expertise and support in ongoing projects and tasks.

Board Meetings
The Board of Directors meet on the second Monday of the month from 7pm – 8:30pm. Currently our monthly meetings take place at Legacy Tim Horton’s. All current Calgary Legacy Community Association members are welcome to attend. If you are interested in attending a board meeting, please email [email protected] the Friday prior to Board meeting at 5pm to register.
Please note there are no planned meetings during the months of July and December

Sarah Peck
President
Sarah has made her home in Legacy since March 2020 – first moving here to live with friends and then buying a house of her own after falling in love with the community. Sarah has a background in planning and development.
Jeremie Berneche
Vice President
Jeremie moved to Legacy in December of 2023 after falling in love with the community. With his background in continuous improvement, organizational communication and standardization, Jeremie hopes to help the community association continuously improve its own efficiency, relevance and impact so that we can collectively keep working on making Legacy the best community it can be!
Jose Alvarado
Treasurer
Jose is a jack of all trades. Since coming to Canada with his wife, he has held many progressive positions in Operation Management roles and is a local entrepreneur as well. If that doesn’t keep him busy enough, he is always running around with his 2 very active children and keeping our books in order.
Elaine Shaneyfelt
Secretary
Elaine has been thankful to call Legacy home since 2019. She became involved in the community association shortly after moving in. She was a social worker for many years and now is a minister in a local church.

Director of Communications
Brianne has lived in Legacy since 2021. She’s made this community her home, and loves to explore the many pathways, ponds and playgrounds with her young son and dog. She uses her experience in Marketing to create engaging social media content for the CLCA, and helps promote community events throughout the year.

Evan Hendricks
Development Advisor
With a passion for gardens and grants, Evan joined the CLCA as an advisor in 2021 with high hopes of helping the community garden settle into its forever home. You’ll either find Evan out digging in the garden with his dog, or fostering relationships with people to help broadcast awareness of our community’s needs.
Frazer Van Roekel
Development Advisor
Frazer is the principal architect at his own design firm. Calling Legacy home for many years, you can often find Frazer biking the many pathways or playing baseball with his kids on one of our local diamonds throughout the summer. Frazer brings his natural skills in planning and design to the community association in a planning and design manner.
Obinna Chimaraoke
Volunteerism Advisor
Chimaraoke Akuchie is proud to have called Legacy home with his lovely family since 2018. Working in healthcare with a background in, human services, and engineering, he brings a diverse skill set to our community. What he loves most about Legacy is its unique blend of diversity and rapid growth. It’s a place where we can all come together and make it even better. That’s why he chose to become an advisor of volunteering for our community board association. His goal is to help volunteer in Legacy and engage in our community activities making it an even more wonderful place for all of us to live. Together, we can build a brighter future for our community!

Joshua Gonzales
IT Advisor
Joshua joined CLCA as an IT advisor in 2024. He is currently studying Information Systems Security at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT). In his free time, he enjoys painting, playing video games, reading, and exploring new hobbies. Joshua is always eager to apply his knowledge and skills to real-world challenges.
