February 2024 Update

With February upon us, we have our first community event of the year. Family skate is a great event we put on for people of all ages to come out, enjoy some treats, music, take photos and skate around the ice surface. Family Skate will be hosted Feb 17th, 2024 from 11am – 1pm.

Key Updates for the month:

  • Community Recreation Program Survey – Please provide us with feedback to help us shape future programs, click here to complete!
  • Membership Drive Fundraiser: Our Team has partnered with the Canadian Mental Health Association. Purchase a membership this month and $5.00 from each membership will be donated to the CMHA. Not only that, we entered their push up challenge. To help raise additional funds, 4 of our board members have pledged to do 2000 push ups this month. To donate to their challenge page, click here!
  • Storm Pond Safety – Please do not attempt to walk on any storm pond areas within Legacy. These areas are not safe as the water levels are constantly in fluctuation and can have air pockets between the ice layer and where the physical water level remains.
  • The office of City Councillor Peter Demong of Ward 14 has confirmed that Legacy will get flashing crosswalks at the 210 Round-About closest to 210 Ave and Legacy Village Link SE.  We expect work on this project to commence within the Spring/Summer of 2024.
