Our Be Thankful Together event brought together Legacians from across our community for a COVID-19 safe physically distanced brunch. Featuring a brunch donated by Milestones (Menu: Ciabatta turkey sandwich, potato salad and triple chocolate cookies with cranberry juice or water), cozy firepits, decorated tables, ambiance music, and coffee. Local photographer Richard Dunstan generously captured photo memories.

Winter Skating Festival 2020
Our Winter Skating Festival took place on January 25, 2020, featuring Richard Dunstan taking family photos, a free skate rentals, a DJ, hot drinks, snacks, and prizes. We had a great turnout of community members on a beautiful day to spend on the ice building our community spirit!

2nd Annual: Light Up the Pond for a Cause
On Saturday, December 7th, 2019 over 500 people walked around the big pond, sharing the spirit of the holidays and enjoying snacks, giveaways, music, entertainment and off course a warm visit with Santa. Members of the Legacy Community Association received a unique Legacy Collectible Ornament. Over 100 toys were collected for immigrant families in need supported by First Christmas in Canada.

More than 1200 Legacians gather together to celebrate Neighbour Day. Starting with a dog and kids bike parade around the small pond, the event featured live music, family games, bouncy castles, bbq, refreshments and fun entertainment for everyone. This amazing community event hosted the first LEGACY AWARDS. People had the opportunity to vote online for different categories and awards were presented by Mayor Nenshi to the winners.

WINTER SKATING FESTIVAL

Over 600 people gathered at the skating rick to enjoy the music, skate, play and share hot chocolate, coffee, water, cookies and snacks with old and new friends. 134 people rented free skates for many being their first time on the ice. 236 people enjoyed a fun ride on the wagon around our community and even our furry friends got treats to make their days special. 11 volunteers worked hard to ensure the best time for everyone.

LIGHT UP THE POND FOR A CAUSE

Over 500 attendees celebrating the holiday spirit and enjoying hot chocolate, coffee and cookies while walking around the pond and stopping at the giant fire pit stations to warm up and continue their walk. About 50% houses located around the big pond participated illuminating their backyards and/or playing festive music. Kids received glow in the dark sticks and everyone had a chance to visit with Santa. More than 120 toys were collected in support of low income newcomers through the First Christmas in Canada program.
